Ndola Masjid

This is our masjid in Kanini, Ndola, Zambia

Pictures sent in by Rashid Badat of Ndola of the masjid that had renovation work completed.

May Allah accept all the efforts of all those responsible for the renovation work.

For me and I am sure for many of the muslims of Ndola of my generation, this was the very first masjid I went to. I remember the madressa which was held in the adjoining hall and the veranda of the masjid. I remember maulana Ahmed Koya saab, Imam of the masjid and living quarters in rooms just behind the masjid as seen in the picture below.

We should give thanks to Allah and make du'a for all our elders who have passed away and played a very important role in the establishment of this masjid. One elder that comes to mind is Mangera chacha who lived directly opposite the masjid.
